8th Life Regiment is a regiment of elite infantry in Napoleon: Total War. They are available with the Elite Regiment Pack DLC, which was available for free with the standard boxed edition of the game, then released as part of the Imperial Eagle Pack DLC.
Description[]
Highly disciplined and inspirational in their bravery, these line infantry are an excellent addition to any Prussian army.
The steadiness displayed by the men of the 8th Life Regiment is amazing, and on the battlefield they will encourage nearby troops to follow their example. As with many Prussian line infantry units, these men are incredibly disciplined and trained: this makes for excellent marksmen with fast reloading times, though their close formations leave them vulnerable to artillery fire and skirmishers. Being an elite unit, the regiment is expensive to recruit, but their abilities more than justify the extra cost.
The 8th Life was one of the most celebrated line infantry units of the Prussian army. During the Napoleonic Wars, the line infantry regiments of the Prussian army outnumbered the newer light infantry regiments. Despite changing tactics the 8th was able to maintain its iron discipline and perform useful service.
General Information[]
Exclusive to Prussia, the soldiers of the 8th Life Regiment are not as good as regular Prussian Foot Guards, but are still far superior to Prussian Musketeers and still inspire nearby units. They are excellent troops and can be relied upon to fight without breaking easily.
