This article covers agents that appear in Napoleon: Total War and its DLC, The Peninsular Campaign. For agents in other games, see Agent (Gameplay Mechanic).

Agents are a gameplay mechanic in Napoleon: Total War. Agents are individuals who work for their factions to produce a variety of benefits.

General Information[]

There are two agent types in Napoleon: Total War: spies and gentlemen. Spies covertly reveal the world map through travelling and establishing spy networks; they can also sabotage buildings and armies, as well as assassinate other agents.

On the other hand, gentlemen engage in research at colleges, greatly increasing the rate at which technologies are researched. Gentlemen can also duel spies and other gentlemen to kill them or drive them away.

The Peninsular Campaign[]

Agents return in The Peninsular Campaign. Gentlemen are replaced with provocateurs, and priests and guerrillos make an appearance.
