Ajax is a Homeric and playable character featured in a Total War Saga: Troy. He is an Epic Defender Hero, part of the Achaean culture group. His campaign is only playable after obtaining the Ajax & Diomedes DLC.

Background[]

Ajax of Salamis is the shield that protects the Achaean host. A man of epic proportions, he's known for his unsurpassed strength and is rumoured to be descended from the mythic giants. His unit roster relies on slow but very heavily equipped defensive infantry to hold the line, while his powerful missile units take advantage of protected positions.

Playstyle[]

Great Ajax swore an oath to always guard his friends. Ajax's strength against a rival is bolstered whenever they defeat an ally, and his renown grows when he completes objectives to avenge them. By leveraging this reputation, Ajax can then host funeral games and convince rivals to make peace.

Ajax can bolster his armies with paragons, mightier versions of regular soldiers who march into battle under the leadership of a seasoned commander. Once Ajax has enough renown, he can issue a challenge to a paragon. Defeating them in mock battles will rally the paragon to his side.
