Altar of Ares is a temple building chain in a Total War Saga: Troy. These can be built exclusively in province capitals. Only a single temple can be built in each province. Each temple built earns 10 additional favour gained from a hecatomb. Each new temple also increases the cost of a hecatomb by 25%. Temples enable the recruitment of priestesses. Every temple increases the capacity for fieldable priestesses by 1 up to a maximum of 3.
Description[]
The eldest son of Zeus and Hera, Ares was a brutish, bloodthirsty Olympian disliked by men and immortals alike. In contrast to his female counterpart Athena, who embodied intelligence and military strategy, he represented warfare’s base brutality and destruction. Although he was seen as a necessary aspect of life, his worshippers were few and his temples sparse. Called ‘bane of mortals’ and ‘slayer or men,’ the god of war stood with Troy in the Iliad, entering the fray of battle himself and sowing terror among the Achaeans.
