Anatolian Swords

Anatolian Swords are a type of infantry unit in a Total War Saga: Troy.

Description[]

The Late Bronze Age saw the introduction of the highly-successful Naue type II sword, also called 'grip-tongue,' which would remain in widespread use across Europe well into the Iron Age, five hundred years later. While previous blades were employed for stabbing in the manner of a long dagger, this design allowed warriors to slash through flesh or armour without the risk of their weapon breaking at the hilt. This versatile addition to Anatolian battlefields allowed soldiers much greater mobility, and often proved decisive for both defence and offence.
