Argive Axemen

Argive Axemen are a type of infantry unit in a Total War Saga: Troy.

Description[]

Occupying a key strategic location on the Peloponnesian peninsula's fertile plain of Argolis, Argos was settled more than 7000 years ago, making it one of the longest continuously-inhabited cities in the world. During the Trojan War, the powerful kingdom was ruled by Diomedes as a vassal state to Agamemnon's Mycenae, and its prosperity and importance explain why Homer employed the word "Argive" to describe the entirety of the Greek forces. The mighty city-state would later rise to even further prominence during the Archaic and Classical periods, frequently challenging Sparta's power and dominance over the Peloponnese.
