Biography[]

Chang Xia was a bureaucrat in the Han Empire. He began his career during the reign of Emperor Ling, rising through the ranks until he eventually was appointed as the Inspector of Jing province. When Emperor Ling died, Dong Zhuo took over the Han Dynasty as the regent of Emperor Xian. At the time, Chang Xia was stationed in Jingzhao, yet he didn't involve himself too much with Zhuo. After Dong Zhuo was assassinated, his successor, Li Jue, recalled Xia to Chang'an proper, where he served as an attendant to Emperor Xian.

When Emperor Xian escaped from Chang'an with the help of Yang Feng, a desperate chase to recapture him began. Chang Xia was with the Emperor at the time, escorting him to the lands of Cao Cao. However, the whole time they were chased by cavalry belonging to Li Jue and his co-regent, Guo Si. Ultimately, Xia would end up dying in the ensuing fighting before managing to reach the lands of Cao Cao. However, Emperor Xian would eventually make it to the warlord's territory unharmed.
