For other uses of the term, see City.

The City is a type of settlement chain building in Fall of the Samurai.

Description[]

Any street holds mysteries, delights and dangers.

A city is a very large settlement, with many people living and working there at all kinds of crafts and trades. Life in the city is far removed from the drudgery of fields and harvests. A city improves the tax income of a province.

General Information[]

Requires Large Town, 8 turns, 7500 koku. Can be upgraded to Municipality.

  • Unlocks an additional construction slot: 3
  • +4% bonus to the tax rate in this province
  • -2 to happiness from modernisation

Clan Effects

Spawned Defence Forces Units:

Cities unlock a third construction slot, allowing greater flexibility and profitability for provinces that have developed them. A money-making province can have an inn, cottage industry, as well as a police station to be both profitable and have a manageable public order, as well as taking advantage of the extra tax income. A military-focused province, meanwhile, can have a wider variety of recruitment buildings as well as a training camp, increasing both the variety of units available as well as the rate at which they're trained. Cities and their upgrades cannot be destroyed, only damaged.

All settlement buildings are civil buildings, and therefore are affected by any events that impact the cost or construction times of civil buildings. As settlements are expensive, can be built in every province, and are highly useful, events that provide discounts or speedups to construction times can save a large amount of money.
