Genoa is a minor faction in Empire: Total War. It is a state in north Italy. It borders Savoy, the Italian States, and Spanish Lombardy.

General Information

Genoa has the standard European unit roster. It is somewhat more difficult to conquer than Savoy or the Italian States due to its ownership of both the regions of Genoa and Corsica; having a navy or at least a ship is required to defeat this faction through conventional means.

Genoa is one of the few factions that starts the Grand Campaign as a Republic.

Genoa largely has the generic European roster of units, with an option to train Carabineers.

Trivia

• The flag of Genoa is the Cross of St. George, which was also the flag of England before it formed a union with Scotland in 1707 and replaced its flag with the Union Jack.
