Military Government[]

For all the complicated systems out there to spice up factions, Gongsun Zan's military government is relatively simple in comparison. It only does one thing: changing the way administrators work. It limits the number of administrators you can have to five and adds five new court positions to your faction, which can be assigned immediately from the start of the campaign. These court positions serve as administrator positions in their own right, as they can only be assigned if you have an available commandery.

Starting Situation[]

Rise of the Warlords (190)[]

TW3K Gongsun Zan 190

190, Gongsun Zan - Blue, Enemies - Red. Note: the faction's map colour is white but due to poor visibility it was changed to blue.

In the cacophony of rising chaos, Gongsun Zan is heard like a clarion call above the fray. He stands firm in his beliefs and is unafraid to do what he feels is right. A childhood friend of Liu Bei, Gongsun Zan earned a reputation as a fierce warrior, defending the empire against foreign foes beyond the border. Gongsun Zan rules his lands with the same martial mindset with which he governs his forces - on the dangerous fringes of the empire, military precision in all things must be observed.

Start: Normal

TW3K Gongsun Zan-Inital-dilemma

Gongsun Zan's initial dilemma

Gongsun Zan starts the game in Youbeiping commandery. He is at war with the Han Empire. Much like other members of the coalition, Dong Zhuo has declared you a traitor. You must first defeat the Han general, Zhao Qian, before striking north. After that, the choice is yours. Do you consolidate the easily defendable northeast first, or do you march west? Before long, you will also get your initial dilemma. Yuan Shao asks you to declare war on Han Fu in exchange for vast riches. Meanwhile, your generals want you to declare war on your long-time enemy, Liu Yu. You must choose between angering your friend in the coalition or your own generals.

A World Betrayed (194)[]

TW3K Gongsun Zan 194

194, Gongsun Zan - Blue, Tian Kai - Green, Enemies - Red

In the cacophony of rising chaos, Gongsun Zan is heard like a clarion call above the fray. He stands firm in his beliefs and is unafraid to do what he feels is right. A childhood friend of Liu Bei, Gongsun Zan earned a reputation as a fierce warrior, defending the empire against foreign foes beyond the border. Gongsun Zan rules his lands with the same martial mindset with which he governs his forces - on the dangerous fringes of the empire, military precision in all things must be observed.

Start: Hard

Gongsun Zan has expanded his territory over the years, but things have gone from bad to worse quickly. Xianyu Fu has revolted against you in the north, whilst your former friend Yuan Shao has betrayed you and now marches against you with overwhelming force. You must strike north rapidly to defeat Fu before turning south to prepare a desperate defence of your territory. You will receive the aid of your vassal, Tian Kai, in doing so. Perhaps, you can even go as far as to ally the bandit warlord Zhang Yan as you share a common enemy in Yuan Shao.
