Guo Tu is a Strategist hero in Total War: Three Kingdoms. He is a member of Yuan Shao in 194 and 200.
Biography[]
Guo Tu was from Yingchuan Commandery. He began his career serving under Han Fu. In 191, he helped convince Han Fu to cede his position to Yuan Shao, becoming Yuan Shao's adviser.
In 195, when the Han Emperor Xian sought help from the lords, Yuan Shao considered rescuing him. But Guo Tu feared that the emperor might control Yuan Shao. So, Yuan Shao, in his infinite wisdom, didn't act. Cao Cao swooped in, took the emperor, and used his authority to his advantage. During the Battle of Boma in 200, Guo Tu supported Yan Liang, who, unsurprisingly, got defeated by Guan Yu. Later, in the Battle of Guandu, Guo Tu's masterful plan to attack Cao Cao's main camp backfired, causing defections and losses.
After Yuan Shao's death in 202, his followers split into camps supporting his sons Yuan Shang and Yuan Tan. Guo Tu supported Yuan Tan. Internal conflicts erupted but ceased temporarily to fight Cao Cao. Eventually, in 205, Cao Cao defeated Yuan Tan, eliminating him, Guo Tu, and their allies.
