Starting Situation[]
Rise of the Warlords (190)[]
He Yi sees the Mandate of Heaven passing from the Han and knows it is time to pick up the mantle of the Yellow Turban rebellion and lead them in righteous revolution! He believes most ardently that if the Taipingjing - 'The Way of Great Peace' - declares that the land must be purified of evil, then he will be the instrument that delivers that purification. The old dynasty will be purged by war, and He Yi will see the Yellow Sky rise over a field of blood!
Start: Hard
He Yi starts the campaign in Runan commandery. He is at war with both the Han Empire under Dong Zhuo and some warlords. He Yi is surrounded by enemies, though his position isn't entirely hopeless. He can strike against nearby weaker warlords such as Huang Zu, Cai Mao, and Kong Zhou. Beyond that, he can expand southwards into the lands of the Han Empire. Immediate threats to He Yi's situation are governor Liu Biao to his western flank and Prince Liu Chong to the north. Long-term threats are Cao Cao to the east and Sun Jian to the south, both of which he starts the campaign at peace with.
A World Betrayed (194)[]
He Yi remains bound to the cause. Nothing will stand in the way of him delivering the Great Peace! He believes most ardently that if the Taipingjing - 'The Way of Great Peace' - declares that the land must be purified of evil, then he will be the instrument that delivers that purification. The old dynasty will be purged by war, and He Yi will see the Yellow Sky rise over a field of blood!
Start: Hard
He Yi does not have missions for the World Betrayed campaign. He starts from Runan commandery once more. The other Yellow Turban Warlords, Gong Du and Huang Shao have had their factions collapse. They have joined He Yi, who is the last hope for the Yellow Turban Rebellion. He Yi finds himself in a difficult position, as he is at war with various influential factions. The Han Empire under Li Jue, Liu Biao and his vassals to the west, and even Yuan Shao to the far north. Severely lacking in potential allies, He Yi must first defeat an imminent invasion by Liu Biao before carefully expanding. It is unlikely that he will find any worthwhile allies, and is doomed to fight on his own.
