Hephaestus is one of the Olympian gods featured within the Divine Will system in a Total War Saga: Troy. Added to the game with the Hephaestus free content update.

The god of artisans and blacksmiths, Hephaestus forged nearly all the great weapons and armour of legend, including Apollo's bow and arrows, Diomedes' cuirass, and even Zeus' mighty thunderbolts. According to the Iliad, Hephaestus was cast out of Olympus by his father Zeus, but later returned to the divine realm where he put his unrivalled skills in service to the king of the gods. Such was his mastery of metalworking that he was said to have created wondrous metal automatons to assist him with his work.

Hephaestus was married to Aphrodite, though their relationship was stormy and the goddess of beauty cheated on him with Ares. During the Trojan War, the master artificer mainly supported the Danaan side, though he also intervened in Troy's favour, saving one of their numbers from death at the hands of Diomedes.₋₋₋[sic]
