In Total War Saga: Troy Heros are the armies' generals. Every Army needs a Hero as leader and every army may only have one Hero. To fight with more Heros, they have to move close to each other, so they appear as reinforcements.
The faction Leaders are called Epic Heros. They get a few bonuses, have a unique skill tree and lack Motivation.
Normal Heros come in four different classes, though any faction may only recruit three of them as defined by the faction.
Heros are quite powerful units and most normal army units loose a one on one battle against a Hero unit.
Hero Classes[edit | edit source]
- Warlord - Commander, Warmonger or Mentor
- Fighter - Champion, Ravager or Vanquisher
- Defender - Protector, Companion or Veteran
- Archer - Skirmisher or Trickster
Motivation[edit | edit source]
Motivation is a stat that every Hero except for Epic Hero faction leaders has. It ranges from -10 to 10 and influences how well the character performs.
There is no desertion in Troy, even at -10 motivation Heros will continue to lead their factions army. It might be the better choice to replace them with another Hero instead.
|current stat||to Morale of Hero||to generated Rage in battle||to happiness in the local province (this province)||to campaign movement range (this army)|
Equipment[edit | edit source]
Heros may again gain different Ancillaries, each being able to equip one armour, one weapon, one mount and five accessories.
Items may be swapped around between Heros. Removal of items is instantaneous, putting them on takes effect the next turn.
Traits[edit | edit source]
Heros may gain a quite huge number of traits. Most descriptions include a short note on the circumstances under which they can be aquired, though this is a game of chance.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- In cases where part of an army survives a battle, but the commanding Hero dies, the controlling faction is forced to recruit a new hero immediately.
