Hitachi is a province in Total War: Shogun 2, Rise of the Samurai, and Fall of the Samurai.
Description[]
Situated to the north of the Kanto plain, Hitachi boasts fertile soil ideal for agriculture and livestock, whilst its large coastline offers an abundance of seafood. The provincial capital, Mito, is home to the Kairakuen, a garden to be enjoyed with others. This is considered to be one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan.
Total War: Shogun 2[]
- Clan: Satake Clan
- Port: Coastal Village
- Fertility: Fertile
- Specialty/Resource: Craftworks
Hitachi is a highly valuable province thanks to its fertile soil, port slot, and valuable crafts speciality. It is the easternmost province to have the craft speciality, making it an especially valuable target for the Date Clan, Uesugi Clan, Hojo Clan, and Takeda Clan.
Hitachi borders Fukushima to the north-east, Shimotsuke to the north-west, and Shimosa to the west.
Rise of the Samurai[]
- Clan: Satake (Fujiwara)
- Port: Coastal Village
- Fertility: Fertile
- Specialty/Resource: Craftworks
Hitachi is an important province, as it is the closest craftworks speciality province to four of the playable factions: the Kiso Minamoto, Kamakura Minamoto, Kubota Fujiwara, and Hiraizumi Fujiwara. The latter two may find it easier to annex, thanks to its owner, the Satake's, Fujiwara allegiance, but the Kamakura Minamoto is the closest to it geographically. Aside from its craftwork speciality, Hitachi has fertile soil, making it a valuable money-making province should its owners eschew improving their archers' accuracy.
Fall of the Samurai[]
Hitachi is a useful and wealthy province in Fall of the Samurai due to its fertility and its valuable copper resource. It is an attractive target for the nearby Aizu and Jozai domains, particularly as it is initially controlled by the Mito, who are imperialist in contrast to the pro-Shogunate Aizu and Jozai.
