TW3K Huang Shao 190

190 - Huang Shao (Yellow), Enemies (Red)

For Huang Shao, there can be no compromising his beliefs - there is only the way of the Yellow Sky; all those opposed will be rent asunder. Yellow Turban philosophy stems from Taipingjing - 'The Way of Great Peace' - which states that harmony between man and heaven can only be achieved by exorcising 'evil omens'. The right of rebellion belongs to the people, and Huang Shao will exercise that right to overthrow a corrupt and unworthy dynasty!

Start: Very Hard

Huang Shao has one of the hardest starting situations in Three Kingdoms. He starts the campaign in Dong commandery. As a Yellow Turban, he is at war with both the Han Empire under Dong Zhuo and many nearby warlords. His starting position is smothered between various warlords such as Yuan Shao, Kong Rong, and Liu Bei. Expansions will be difficult, as Huang Shao is severely outnumbered. Furthermore, he has no worthwhile allies in the region. He borders the generic Yellow Turban Rebellion faction to the south though they are likely to be conquered by Liu Bei and Cao Cao.

Despite all this, Huang Shao can survive in a variety of ways. He can either turtle up and bide his tide, waiting for an opening to expand, or he can be hyperaggressive and expand rapidly, hoping to gain enough strength to survive. The situation is salvageable, though very tricky.
