Imperial Units are eight elite units in Total War: Three Kingdoms. They can be recruited by Han factions that have obtained the rank of Emperor, and, in most cases, have unlocked the necessary reforms required to unlock them. In general, Imperial Units are considered the strongest units in the game, though this is balanced out by having a massively reduced replenishment of -40% in the campaign. Due to their low replenishment, it is wise to mix Imperial Units with other power troops such as faction-unique units or Dragon units, who do not suffer a replenishment penalty.

Imperial Units can serve as garrisons, too. If a faction constructs the Imperial Palace, the garrison in their city will be replaced by Imperial Units. The Palace can only be built by Emperors who have unlocked the Mandate of Heaven reform. Due to the strength of the building, it can only be constructed once.

  • +10 Morale
  • +10% Melee Evasion
  • +10 Armour-Piercing Melee Damage
  • Immune to Terror

When in the presence of other imperial forces, enemy blows will strike false more often, whilst their own will strike harder.
