Indian Spearmen are a type of light infantry unit available to the Indians in Rome: Total War: Alexander.
Description[]
Indian spearmen are easily recruited militia, who are good for defence against a range of opponents. They are drawn from among the peasantry, told who to stand next to in the line and sent into battle. They are however given large shields, and the weight of numbers which they provide also serves as some sort of defence. Their spears will defeat a frontal cavalry charge and used in combination with other units they can even tackle heavy infantry. A wily commander will spot their worth for pinning opponents on a battlefield to allow his heavier units to come to grips with their foe.
