Overview[]

On the battlefield, Lady Zhurong has the Flying Dagger ability, which deals heavy damage over time to a single target. Flying Dagger unfortunately has a very short range and it can miss, but it can be activated pretty quickly, allowing Lady Zhurong to tag targets even in fairly chaotic close combat situations. Lady Zhurong also has the Power of Love passive ability, which activates when there is an allied general on the battlefield; the only other character to have this ability is Meng Huo. Power of Love increases the damage resistance of Lady Zhurong, making her much tankier than her stats suggest if her husband is also on the field. It also grants her (and, by extension, Meng Huo) fatigue immunity.

Thanks to her innate +25% of capturing enemy generals, Lady Zhurong is the best capturing general in the game. The closest a Han general can get is a strategist or champion with the Reach ability, but that only grants +10%. Lady Zhurong is particularly potent with a Shaman follower, which boosts her capture rate to +35%.

Biography[]

Lady Zhurong wasn't a historical figure but one created for Romance of the Three Kingdoms. In the book, she is merely the wife of Meng Huo, not the powerful warlord she is in-game. After her husband is defeated in battle and retreats, Lady Zhurong strikes out on her own and defeats and captures two officers of Shu-Han: Ma Zhong and Zhang Ni. Later, she is captured and brought before Zhuge Liang, who offers her to Meng Huo in exchange for the two imprisoned officers.

Meng Huo marches against Shu-Han's forces with Zhurong accompanying him after news reaches them that Wutugu defeated Shu-Han's army and that the Han are on the brink of defeat. However, it is later revealed that the Chinese soundly defeated Wutugu's army. Ultimately, the pair end up surrendering and pledging loyalty to Shu-Han and are not mentioned in the novel again.

A small trivia fact is that Zhurong is the only woman in the entire novel to enter combat despite other women, such as Diaochan, holding a much more prominent role in the story.
