Description[]
For some, a glimpse into a larger world.
A large town is a significant settlement in a province, with its own life and identity quite distinct from the countryside around. The settlement is large enough to make the collection of taxes somewhat easier, if only because so many taxpayers live there!

Large towns are very useful and a good investment despite their high cost for an early game building type. Provinces that are being developed to make money can build both a cottage industry as well as an inn in large towns, and enjoy the extra income the increased tax rate provides. Meanwhile, provinces that are recruitment hubs can build either an extra military building to increase the diversity and number of troops that can be trained per turn, or a training camp and its upgrades to increase the combat effectiveness of troops trained there. Finally, any province that is suffering from low public order can make use of a Police Station to counteract unrest. Large towns and their upgrades cannot be destroyed, only damaged.
All settlement buildings are civil buildings, and therefore are affected by any events that impact the cost or construction times of civil buildings. As settlements are expensive, can be built in every province, and are highly useful, events that provide discounts or speedups to construction times can save a large amount of money.
