Plainsmen

Plainsmen are a type of infantry unit in a Total War Saga: Troy.

Description[]

Popular among the Thracian tribes was the falx sword, a scythe-like curved blade with a sharpened inner edge and attached to a long shaft so it could be used two-handed if necessary, particularly by the Dacians to the north. While this type of weapon was effective when on the attack, for chasing down a fleeing foe or killing a fallen enemy, it provided little overall defensive advantage. Therefore, for protection, falx-bearing infantry relied instead on their crescent-shaped, goat-skin-covered pelte shields.
