Keep these units facing directly toward archer fire and they will soak up arrows with virtually no losses. Ranged block chance + shield make them nearly invulnerable to Archers.
Sabre Cavalry are properly trained and reasonably armored melee cavalry units in Total War: Three Kingdoms. They can be recruited in Commander and Vanguard retinues and will provide exceptional (and essential) front-of-the-line missile defense for troops to their rear when used properly. They can be useful in flanking attacks against weakly armored, non-spear wielding units, and with their high speed, they excel in chasing down wavering or routing enemies.
Commander characters with the Nobility Skill will automatically buff Sabre Cavalry units' already excellent Ranged Block Chance by +20%. This is a principle reason to recruit these earth class units in Commander Retinues whenever possible.
- Type: Medium Sword Cavalry
- Cost to recruit: Expensive, use sparingly and wisely
Description[]
These cavalry units are professionally trained regulars ready for extended campaigns. They are capable of heavy and continued use on the battlefield when used properly. They have adequate amour, and are skilled in the use of their Zhibeidao swords and durable rattan shields.
