Description[]

In-game

In-game

Assault infantry armed with zhibeidao swords to break enemy spear lines.

Straight-bladed zhibeidao swords are cheap and easily mastered, making them the perfect weapon for militia. As little training is needed, these troops can be quickly recruited, armed and sent out to battle. Their lack of heavy armour leaves them vulnerable to cavalry, but provides some defence against archers. Their main use is to assault less mobile enemies, particularly spearmen, to open up the lines for a cavalry charge.

General Information[]

Despite their status as lowly militia, sabre militia are highly useful throughout most of a campaign if used correctly. They are excellent at soaking up damage from arrows thanks to their unusually high block chance of 65%. As sword wielders, they fight well against other infantry, though they are vulnerable to cavalry and axe-wielding troops.

While they are adequate at forming a shield wall and holding the line against other infantry, sabre militia are still some of the weakest purple units in terms of stats. They can be replaced by hardier troops if the funds allow it, but for factions operating on a tight budget, sabre militia are often an excellent choice of unit to bring onto the battlefield.
