For other uses of the term, see Scotland.
Scotland is an emergent faction in Napoleon: Total War.
General Information[]
Scotland emerges if its namesake region has a successful rebellion or is liberated. It borders England to the south and Ireland to the west. It has access to a two-slot city as well as a port, and it is well-positioned to take the four trade nodes in the north-west corner of the world map (provided no one has taken them already).
Diplomacy[]
Below are a list of grievances/friendships other factions have with Scotland if it emerges. This list is exhaustive; factions that are not listed do not have friendships or grievances (they are neutral).

Military[]
Scotland fields militia, light infantry, line infantry, light cavalry, heavy cavalry, but lacks lancers, skirmishers, grenadiers, or elite infantry. It has the standard roster of artillery.
Scotland has the unusual distinction of not being able to recruit unlimited numbers of line infantry. Instead, it is constrained to just ten regiments of Highland Foot. These are excellent troops that are substantially better than generic line infantry, however.
