For the character, see Shamoke.

King Shamoke is a playable Nanman faction at the border of their territory. It was added with the release of The Furious Wild. The faction appears in 190, 194 and 200 and is led by Shamoke. As King Shamoke is a Nanman faction, it automatically starts with its own Tribal Fealty.

Unification Mandate[]

King Shamoke's special mechanic is quite straightforward. When you defeat another Nanman nation you get the option to either vassalize or conquer them outright. Vassalizing a tribe will give you a buff to diplomacy, whilst conquering them gives you a buff to your armies. These buffs come in the form of two unification mandates: Domination and Co-operation. Both mandates have 10 levels, increasing the buff every time you conquer or vassalize a Nanman faction. You are not forced down a path and can both conquer and vassalize people at the same time.

There are 19 Nanman nations in total, including Shamoke. This means that you can't upgrade both mandates 10 times and will have to settle on either a 10/8 or 9/9 split.

The two mandates and their effects are as follows:

Starting Situation[]

Rise of the Warlords (190)[]

Where the valleys converge, there too is King Shamoke, straddling the border between nations; the tumbling waters of the confluence as precarious as his future. To his north, east and south lie the Han, a persistent thorn in the side of those who would call themselves independent. Yet Shamoke must appease this unstable empire, lest he invite their wrath. At the same time, however, he is respected by the tribes of the south, and so cannot concede too much, or risk shattering the fragile ground beneath his feet.

Start: Hard

TW3K Shamoke Map 190

190, Shamoke - Purple, Enemies - Red

Shamoke starts the game at war on all sides, as you are fighting both the Nanman chief Jinhuansanjie and warlord Zhu Fu. You have a mission to conquer or vassalize Jinhuansanjie, but it might be worth attacking Zhu Fu first as his armies are relatively weak and it would unify your starting commandery, Wuling.

A World Betrayed (194)[]

Where the valleys converge, there too is King Shamoke, straddling the border between nations; the tumbling waters of the confluence as precarious as his future. To his north, east and south lie the Han, a persistent thorn in the side of those who would call themselves independent. Yet Shamoke must appease this unstable empire, lest he invite their wrath. At the same time, however, he is respected by the tribes of the south, and so cannot concede too much, or risk shattering the fragile ground beneath his feet.

194. Shamoke - Purple, Duosi - Green, Enemies - Red

Jinhuansanjie's capital is conquered, but he continues to fight you. To the north-east, Zhu Fu also continues his war on you. Fret not, as you have earned the loyalty of King Duosi who is now your vassal and has given you his Tribal Fealty. He has married your sister, Mengli, so she is no longer part of your faction. You still have your previous mission to destroy or vassalize Jinhuansanjie.

Fates Divided (200)[]

Shamoke stands astride two worlds, yet if he is not careful, he will be devoured by them both! In almost all directions, the warlords of the now-crumbling Han snap at his heels. Yet Shamoke must appease these unstable warriors, lest he invite their wrath. At the same time, however, he is respected by the remaining Nanman tribes of the south, and so cannot concede too much or risk shattering the fragile ground beneath his feet.

Start: Hard

You have conquered a large amount of territory and gained five Tribal Fealties, but your battle is far from over. Two other warlords, Mulu and Meng Huo have also conquered large amounts of land and now a three-way war has broken out between all of you. In fact, you are easily the weakest Nanman faction on the map and your only saving grace is that Mulu has a western front to worry about.

TW3K Shamoke Map 200

200. Shamoke - Purple, Enemies - Red

The problem of Zhu Fu in the north-east has disappeared, but now you face an extremely powerful Liu Biao who has taken over his territory. If you can't defeat Mulu and Meng Huo fast enough, you will find yourself crushed by an almost unwinnable war on all fronts; a "Total War", if you will.
