Shangdang Commandery is a second-level administrative division of northern China during the Han Dynasty. The region is featured in the campaigns of Total War: Three Kingdoms.

Shangdang is a commandery that has low fertility and consists of three counties, able to produce the following resources:

  • Grain

Location[]

Shangdang commandery is located in northern China, bordering the Yellow River, directly north of Luoyang. It is surrounded by the following commanderies:

Counties[]

Rise of the Warlords (190)[]

Mandate of Heaven (182)[]

A World Betrayed (194)[]

Fates Divided (200)[]

Eight Princes (291)[]

Development Strategy[]

Shangdang is something of an odd case. It has low fertility, yet exclusively consists of Farmlands. This leaves the commandery in a position where it can either be developed to maximize food production at a suboptimal level or earn a hybrid income. If you want Shangdang to produce food, develop Government Support, Land Development, and a Grain Storage in the commandery capital. If you want to earn a hybrid income, build an Inn, Marketplace, State and Private Workshops.
