Shuofang Commandery (Chinese:朔方郡) is a second-level administrative divisions of China during Han dynasty. The region is featured in Total War: Three Kingdoms.
Overview[]
Shuofang is a four-county commandery. It has Low Fertility.
Resources[]
- Salt Mine
- Animal Tamer
- Horse Pastures
Development Strategy[]
Given Shuofang's poor fertility, and the fact that three of its four counties have little to no direct economic benefit, this commandery has a very low priority for upgrading buildings for financial gain. However, it is the only commandery with an animal tamer building chain. For factions that want access to better steeds, there is no substitute for annexing Shuofang.
Upgrading the animal tamer chain to the final tier requires Entrepreneurs, which is provided by the marketplace building chain. Building a marketplace just to upgrade the animal tamer is well-worth the cost, even if it is demolished later to make way for other buildings. The final animal tamer chain building also requires Shuofang to be upgraded to a small regional city, though this can be downgraded later if Shuofang is not being made into a money-generating commandery.
As one of the north-westernmost commanderies, Shuofang is sometimes the target of looters. Building military infrastructure can be helpful for staving them off.
