Fates Divided SS 8

Cao Cao's faction specialisation credibility and schemes

Faction resources, also known as faction currency or unique currency, is a gameplay mechanics in Total War: Three Kingdoms.

Overview[]

Certain playable warlords have a certain special resource that they use to further their goals or better their chances of success, this is called specialisation. Two types of specialisations are avaible - character specialisation and faction specialistion.

If a faction leader dies and their heir assumes the title, the faction will change its name to reflect the new warlord, and the original warlord’s character specialisation will be lost, though their faction specialisation will remain in play.[1]

Character Specialisation[]

It's faction leaders that conduct diplomacy, trading, forming alliances with and declaring war against other warlords. Each playable warlord has their own character specialisation, a unique mechanic which heavily influences their playstyle. This is noted in their description before a campaign begins, and in the faction summary panel during a campaign. There's also faction specialisation that is thematically connected to a faction's starting warlord.

Faction Specialisation[]

Each playable faction has its own faction specialisation, a unique mechanic which heavily influences its playstyle. This is noted in the faction's description before a campaign begins, and in the faction summary panel duringa campaign.

Sometimes, faction resources are shared between multiple factions, such as the Zeal mechanics of Zhang Jue, Zhang Bao, and Zhang Liang.
