For the Napoleon: Total War version of this faction, see Swiss Confederation (Napoleon: Total War).
The Swiss Confederation is a faction in Empire: Total War that was cut from the final release of the game.
In real life, Switzerland is located between Italy, Germany, France, and Austria--depicted in-game as the wild, mountainous area south of Austria and west of Savoy. It would've been in the Alpine region of the game between France and Austria and under Württemberg, which is wilderness in the final version of the game.
Although the Swiss Confederation was cut from the final game, some units (including Swiss Infantry and Swiss Guard) are available to train for some factions. The Swiss Confederation makes its first formal appearance in Napoleon: Total War.
