Biography[]

Little information about Wen Chou survives to this date. Much like Yan Liang, it is known that he was one of Yuan Shao's top generals, yet where he came from or when he joined the warlord is unknown.

Wen Chou served in Yuan Shao's invasion of Cao Cao's Duchy of Wei in 200. After the death of Yan Liang, Wen Chou was put in charge of a large force and tasked to advance alongside Liu Bei. This force repelled Cao Cao's army, forcing him to retreat. However, whether it was bravery or stupidity, Wen Chou gathered a cavalry vanguard and gave chase to the retreating Cao Cao. Before he could reach the Duke of Wei, Wen Chou was ambushed by a cavalry force and killed.
