Xin Ping is a Chinese name; the family name is Xin.

Xin Ping is a Champion hero in Total War: Three Kingdoms. He is a member of Han Fu in 182 and 190. He later joins Yuan Shao in 194 and 200.

Biography[]

He began as an adviser to warlord Han Fu and later persuaded him to hand over his governorship to Yuan Shao.

Xin Ping served Yuan Shao and brought his brother Xin Pi along. During the Battle of Guandu (200), he played a role in suggesting the removal of Shen Pei. Following Yuan Shao's death in 202, a power struggle between Yuan Shao’s sons, Yuan Tan and Yuan Shang, led Xin Ping to support Yuan Tan.

In 203, Xin Pi brokered an alliance with Cao Cao on behalf of Yuan Tan. Conflict between the 2 Yuan brothers escalated, leading to the Battle of Ye in 204 with Cao Cao being Cao Cao, breaking the alliance and utilized the conflict between the Yuan family members to claim their lands for his own, where Shen Pei executed the Xin family while blaming Xin Pi for the fall of the Yuan family. After Ye fell to Cao Cao's forces, Xin Pi, who was with Cao Cao at the time, rushed to the prison to free his family but it was too late as all of them were already dead.

During the events, Xin Ping's whereabouts are unknown. It's safe to assume that he was executed along with his family members, or died prior to that briefly or escaped the execution (or he wasn't there to begin with) and fell into irrelevancy as there were no further mentions of him in the historical records.
