TW3K Yi Archers

Unit Card

Yi Archers is a type of Light Bow Infantry in Total War: Three Kingdoms. The unit can only be used by Liu Bei. It is a Water unit and is best grouped with Strategist heroes.

Yi Archers have unusually good melee statistics, putting up a stiff resistance if they are caught in melee combat. This is not their primary role, however, and they still function best as archers that are out of kept out of harm's way. Unusually for foot archers, Yi Archers have the ability to fire while moving, making them effective skirmishers.

Description[]

These archers’ long siyah horn bows increase the velocity of their arrows, while they fend off attackers with zhibeidao swords.

A siyah is the rigid part of a bow, designed to increase and preserve the draw earlier, sustain the thrust upon firing, and give the arrow a final snap as it leaves the bow. The arrows fired therefore have an increased velocity and strength, making them very effective at puncturing through armour. Like many archers, these Yi troops can be vulnerable if attacked in close combat, but they are better trained than most, and have zhibeidao swords should they need to defend themselves.
