Biography[]
Zhang Gong was a powerful eunuch in the Han administration under the reign of Emperor Ling in the 180s. He was a member of the so-called Ten Attendants, a faction of the most powerful eunuchs in China with direct influence over the emperor. Besides these simple facts, nothing else is known about the man. If the history books are anything to go by, the best guess would be that he was slaughtered alongside the rest of the Ten Attendants by Yuan Shao in the aftermath of the eunuch assassination of He Jin.
